I've decided after the successful run with the "Conceptual Program" to try something new. I've scoured the internet an Olympic-style weightlifting program by Dr. Long Kilgore, PhD called the "MSU Experimental Training Program 1.0". I'm going to give this program a run and see what results it will produce.
The program is divided into 3 two week cycles. Weeks 1 and 2 are considered a "Build Up" phase, where the training weights are extremely light and the amount of volume is significantly lower than what I experienced with the previous "Undersetting and Conceptual Programs".
Weeks 3 and 4, are the "Hard Training" phase where the weights increase along with the intensity and volume. This is more reminiscent of a Bulgarian-ish style of training where establishing a daily maximum is the norm.
The final 2 weeks, weeks 5 and 6, are the "Taper" phase of this program, with a gradual lowering of load and volume in preparation of a meet or PRs.
I've inputted the following PRs into the downloadable spreadsheets for all three phases:
120kg - Snatch
135kg - Clean and Jerk
170kg - Back Squat
80kg - Press
I'll start posting immediately my daily results. Until then, go lift something REALLY HEAVY!
